From Death Blooms Life
16” x 20”
Colored Pencil Drawing
The perception of life and how short it lasts becomes very tangible after the death of a loved one. In this piece I explored the tangible idea of life and visually expressing the ephemeral timeline between birth and death. As pictured, the fawn is within the bones of a stag while laying in a grass bed. The vibrancy of life and nature around the piece stands in comparison to the decaying skeleton and dead leaves laying in the tall grass. The blurry nature towards the back of the composition is shown to represent how time can pass faster when focus is lost
